A group of us at Lake District Hotels recently hosted a free Christmas Dog Walk to spread some festive cheer to both our two- and four-legged clientele.
The festive dog walk, which took place on Friday 17th December, was hosted by Lake District Hotels in association with Keswick Tourism Association and attracted an impressive number of both humans and canines.

On the picture-pawfect afternoon, 27 adults & 24 dogs all pawed off from Keswick’s Market Square where we made their way to Friars Crag, then on to Castlehead View Point to take in the magnificent views of Derwentwater. The weather could not have been more amazing with many guests using this as an opportunity to snap lots of photos and the dogs even enjoyed a group play in the lake.
Afterwards, all two-legged guests were rewarded in true festive fashion with a steaming glass of mulled wine or hot chocolate & mince pies outside the 4-star Inn on the Square. Naturally, there were complimentary dog treats for four-legged friends also!
A large selection of dogs dressed for the occasion sporting their finest festive attire including Labradors, Cocker Spaniels, Collies, Border Terriers, Springer Spaniels, plus more. One lucky dog, Coco, a Daschund who moved to the Keswick area just 18 months ago won best dressed festive pup and was rewarded with a wonderful Christmas hamper donated by local pet store, Podgy Paws.

The event was held as part of Keswick Advent 2021 which has become quite an attraction in its own right. The calendar offers local businesses and organisations the chance to host a selection of Christmas events throughout the month of December to create a festive buzz around town.
