The award-winning 4 star Inn on the Lake enjoys one of the most spectacular settings in the Lake District, set in 15 acres of grounds with lawns sweeping to the shores of Lake Ullswater and breath taking scenery towards the magnificent Helvellyn range… it’s the perfect location to hold a photographic workshop.

Join the Inn on the Lake for 2 nights dinner, bed & breakfast and a photography workshop with award-winning photographer Mark Littlejohn, who has recently been named the ‘UK Landscape Photographer of the Year 2014’ for his image “A Beginning and an End” which was taken at Glencoe in March this year. A further two of his images, “Wall Holm Island” and “Deepdale” were highly commended and a fourth image “The Formation” was commended. (See below images)

These photography workshops have been so popular throughout 2014, that the following dates have been confirmed for next year; Friday 30th & Saturday 31st January, as well as Friday 6th & Saturday 7th March.

The 2 night package includes tea and scones on arrival, a welcome meeting with Mark Littlejohn with cocktails & canapés, a la carte dinner on both evenings in our 2 AA Rosette Lake View restaurant. On the Saturday it’s an start to catch the sunrise from the jetty in front of the hotel, followed by a full Cumbrian breakfast. Mark Littlejohn will then take you on a journey chasing the light at variety locations until the sunset, exploring the dramatic mountainous landscape, with a delicious packed lunch to enjoy along the way.

After a hard day of creativity you’ll then head back to the comfort of the Inn on the Lake for image review, discussion and, of course, a delicious evening meal. Expect early mornings and lots of fresh air so be prepared for the weather! The 2 night package is £285 per person.

Mark’s aim for each customer on the workshop, is for them to take a picture during the course of the day that they can print and hang on the wall and feel proud to have taken.
