Car clubs at the Inn on the Lake are on a Roll-s Royce!

We have just had the pleasure of accommodating 90 guests from the International Car Club of Rolls Royce and Bentley Enthusiasts at the Inn on the Lake, on the shores of Ullswater, with over 50 fabulous cars. The visit was part of their 18-day Round Britain Tour 2017 across England, Wales and Scotland, organised by The Silver Ghost Register.

The group spent 3 days with us, arriving to a Pimm’s and strawberries welcome, with a brass band which provided relaxed entertainment. Fine dining was enjoyed by all in the Lake View restaurant each night, offering views across Lake Ullswater and the surrounding fells, with a canape and cocktails reception on the last night.

MOTORING BREAKS  →

Members of the group had travelling from as far as America, Canada, Australia, Belgium, Germany, as well as many from the UK. With a mixture of old and new cars, the oldest being a 1907 Silver Ghost Wagonette and the most recently purchased, a Continental GT 2015 Bentley.

Whilst in the area the group visited the likes of the Lakeland Motor Museum, drove up ‘the Struggle’ in Ambleside, had a wander around Aira Force Waterfall and a cruise on the Ullswater Steamer. Charles Graves, Director of Lake District Hotels, is also a Bentley enthusiast, who drives a 1927 4.5 litre Le Mans style, provided the group with a bespoke tulip route, taking in the beautiful Eden Valley countryside with a stop at Hutton in the Forest.
