Royal Ascot at the Inn on the Lake raises £2610 for the Great North Air Ambulance

Royal Ascot Ladies Race Day at the Inn on the Lake

On Thursday 18th June the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater hosted a fabulous Royal Ascot Ladies Race Day in aid of the Great North Air Ambulance. 90 glamorous ladies travelled from as far as Scarborough, Newcastle, Carlisle and various other parts of Cumbria to take their seats in the “Royal Enclosure” for a live television transmission of one of the most popular events of the summer’s social calendar.

On arrival guests enjoyed cocktails and canapés in the Orangery as Alison Loader from Beautae Bespoke Perfume Design gave an interesting insight into how perfume is made, followed by a touching presentation from the Great North Air Ambulance. Glen Anderson then entertained guests in between races with a captivating singing performance, as a superb 3 course Royal Ascot lunch was enjoyed by all, served in the stunning AA 2 Rosette Lake View Restaurant.

The day raised a total of £2,610 for the Great North Air Ambulance, with £10 from each ticket sale going to the chosen charity, as well as raffle tickets sales and donations for fun money. Guests couldn’t keep the smile off their faces as they placed their bets for a chance to win some wonderful prizes. Prizes were generously donated by Caterite, Eskdale Railways, Ullswater Steamers, Jennings Brewery, H&H Reeds Printers, Grapevine, Neve Fleetwood, Pioneer, Ribble Farm, Lakes Speciality, Rob Sharmans, Coniston Corporate and many more…

Gary Wilson, General Manager commented, “We hosted the Royal Ascot Ladies Day lastyear and raised an incredible £1803, we had an amazing turn out and I didn’t think we’d be able to top it. However this year’s event was outstanding, it’s very rewarding to see all of our guests thoroughly enjoying themselves, as well as being in a position to help raise such a substantial amount for the Great North Air Ambulance.  30 ladies have rebooked for next year, from Genevieve of Carlisle and a group from Keswick.”
