With cricket matches once again taking place in Keswick’s Fitz Park, the home ground of Keswick Cricket Club, 2016 promises to be another action-packed cricket season…
Lake District Hotels Ltd is proud to be the principal sponsor of Keswick Cricket Club for a third year running. As part of the sponsorship agreement each year a team of staff from our hotels join forces to play a cricket match against KCC, which has now become an annual event.
In 2014 we were completely bowled over as we claimed victory; however this was short lived as we were defeated in 2015 when KCC won back the team cup. The stakes are now higher than ever, with both LDH and KCC expected to field a much stronger team this year, set to take place on Thursday 21st July at Fitz Park and everyone is welcome to come along and watch.
Keith Richardson, KCC chairman commented, “This is the third year of the sponsorship package with LDH and this constant support is invaluable to the club, especially at a time when we need all the help we can get, not only to bounce back from the floods, but also to make our way and continue our development.”
“The annual fixture, Keswick CC XI v Lake District Hotels XI is now an annual and much anticipated event on the KCC calendar and we look forward to this summer’s fixture. As ever the staff from the various hotels in the LDH group will be keen to put one over on the cricket club, as they did in the first season the match was held. Last year the club got its revenge so this year it is all to play for.”
