Colin Firth CBE
CBE-knighted actor, Colin Firth, is most well-known for his multi-award-winning performance in The King’s Speech as he portrayed King George VI in his ascension to the throne. He first rose to fame following his role as Fitzwilliam Darcy in the BBC’s 1995 ‘Pride and Prejudice’, in which he was deeply doted on. Whilst filming Supernova in the area with Stanley Tucci, Colin popped into the popular Mizu, for a spot of pan-Asian lunch…only award-winning restaurants are appropriate for award-winning celebrities!
Simon Pegg
Mizu has also had the pleasure of welcoming none other than the legendary comedian, Simon Pegg; originally famous for co-creating Channel 4 sitcom, Spaced, and his roles in Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, and World’s End. Since then, his filmography has expanded tenfold bagging parts in films as big as Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Mizu is the proud winner of the 2022 Golden Chopstick ‘Best Restaurant in England’ award, it is a stylish restaurant serving the best pan-Asian cuisine that the Lake District has to offer.
Molly Mae & Tommy Fury
Love Island favourites, Molly Mae & Tommy Fury, both hugely successful individuals, stayed at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa for a cheeky last-minute getaway. Molly splurged on a beautiful Premium Suite to surprise her beloved Tommy. They dined in the Lake View Restaurant where they pointedly ‘ate clean’ indulging in the finest steak that can be locally sourced. Tommy used the onsite gym during their stay and they both made use of the state-of-the-art facilities within the Falls Spa.
Bill Bailey
Bill Bailey is a household name, he possesses much success in music, comedy, and film. Not only does he make contribution to the English entertainment industry, but he is a well-known feminist as a member of the Fawcett Society and is an advocate for prostate cancer awareness. He visited Mizu Pan-Asian restaurant for a delicious dining experience and was gracious enough to pose for a photo with our team!
Ronan Keating
2021 marked the year that Ronan Keating made his first trip to the Lake District. He visited as part of the Magic Radio team who climbed Catbells and broadcasted their Breakfast Show live in aid of Cash for Kids. Ronan performed on the shores of Derwentwater during the show, in front of 30 people who had raised money for this special charity. This photo shows Ronan and his co-host, Harriet Scott, standing together in front of The Falls Spa building.
Maisie Smith & Max George
Eastender’s Maisie Smith and The Wanted’s Max George booked a spontaneous getaway for a romantic, blissful stay surrounded by natural beauty. The high-profile couple spent the night with their pooch, Albert, in one of our luxurious, dog-friendly Suites. They made use of the complimentary 2-hours spa access included, rejuvenating the mind and body in our thermal suite and hydrotherapy pool. They both ‘loved’ their stay and we look forward to welcoming all three of them back soon!
Adam Thomas
Waterloo Road and Emmerdale star, Adam Thomas and his beautiful wife, Caroline, celebrated their wedding anniversary in style at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa. What better way to commemorate such a special occasion than with a relaxing trip to The Falls Spa? The pair were a positive presence throughout their stay with us; our hearts warmed as Adam stopped for a photo with one of our newly married couples, starting their own journey in marriage.
Lisa Snowdon
Lisa’s visit has a firm place in the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa’s memory book! She visited with the crew of This Morning as they chose our stunning location to promote a live competition giveaway; £85,000 in cash and a beautiful yellow Mercedes-AMG A35, as pictured. We hosted the whole crew the night before this exciting endeavour and our pan-Asian restaurant, Mizu, had the honour of accommodating the team for lunch.
Kady McDermott
Kady is a two-time Love Island contestant who rose to fame in Season 2 as the public rooted for her blossoming, yet turbulent, relationship with Scott Thomas (brother of Adam Thomas). She visited Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa for a Derwent Delight Spa Day, starting with a delicious lunch in Mizu, before relaxing in the state-of-the-art thermal suite and hydrotherapy pool. Kady made her trip truly one to remember, pampering herself with a private mud Rasul and a massage from head therapist, Naomi, of which she expressed was ‘one of the best she’s ever had’.

The celebrity hotspot, Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, is currently undergoing a whole ground-floor renovation to improve the structure and fabric of the building for many years to come…
The transformation is expected to reach completion on the 8th March with a bid to optimise customer experience, creating luxurious and stylish spaces to be enjoyed by all who step foot through the entrance.
The following areas are receiving a revitalising revamp: the Bar, the Dog Lounge and Library, the Restaurant, the Reception, and the front external area of the building.
