Lake District Hotels bags four AA Rosettes for culinary excellence

We are delighted to announce that we have been awarded a further four AA Rosettes for culinary excellence, following on from recent AA inspections. Lake District Hotels now collectively hold eight accolades, which includes a second rosette at the Lodore Falls Hotel, two rosettes at the George Hotel in Penrith, and a rosette at the Borrowdale Hotel, whilst the Inn on the Square in Keswick and the Inn on the Lake in Ullswater both retained their ratings for yet another year.

Eight rosettes across our seven hotels is a fantastic achievement, which we are all extremely proud of. It’s a reflection of the hard work and commitment from our whole team which continues to exceed the standards required by the AA and by our guests. At Lake District Hotels we pride our hotels on sourcing the finest ingredients, sourced locally wherever possible.

From a 17th century coaching inn, to award winning four-star lakeshore hotels, the extensive kitchens are all under the management of Executive Head Chef, Mark Harris and his seven Head Chef’s, catering for over 1,000 covers daily and looking after over 45 chefs.

As the seasons change, so do our menus. By embracing seasonal menus, this keeps our dishes relevant, helps to generate new ideas, and introduces a new balance of flavours, which keeps things interesting for our guests. With Spring just around the corner, our kitchens are now gearing up to introduce their new menus to suit.

The AA inspector highly rated each venue, with particular mention made to the accurate and skilled cookery, imaginative dish construction at the Lodore Falls Hotel, and to the fact that the Gueridon trolley is still to this day an impressive feature at the Borrowdale Hotel
