“Coming into National Seafood week we thought what better way to enjoy superb seafood at one of the Lake District Hotels than with a perfectly matched glass of wine. Mark Harris, Executive Chef for Lake District Hotels has created a brilliant dish of Pan Fried Atlantic Cod Loin with lightly curried mussel chowder, sweet corn and crispy hens egg, which will be available at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in the Borrowdale valley and Inn on the Lake on Ullswater. It’s fantastic dish with lots of tantalising flavours. Consequently, we thought there was no better to promote it than by a judicious pairing with a delicious dry Riesling from Dr. Loosen!

The ‘Dr. L’ cuvee is an extremely popular white wine which embodies the elegant and racy style of classic Mosel Riesling. It is refreshing and fruity, with a fine mineral edge that is typical of the region. The grapes used to make Dr. L come exclusively from traditionally farmed vineyards with steep slopes and slate soil. By working closely with a select group of growers on long-term contracts, Ernie Loosen is able to ensure excellent quality in every vintage.
