The essence of the Christmas season is in full swing at Lake District Hotels! This year, the business has gone above and beyond, investing a whopping £15,000 to adorn our six iconic hotels with stunning Christmas lights. The result? A truly magical atmosphere that’s spreading joy and festive cheer across these locations.
Among these enchanting hotels are the Inn on the Square, Kings Arms, and Skiddaw Hotel in Keswick; Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa and Borrowdale Hotel in the Borrowdale Valley; and the Inn on the Lake at Glenridding. Each of these esteemed hotels has been transformed into a snapshot straight from a Christmas film with their upgraded twinkling lights adorning their exteriors.
The decision to make this significant investment in exterior Christmas lights perfectly aligns with Lake District Hotels‘ commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences for both guests and locals during the festive season.

However, the enchantment doesn’t stop at the exterior lights. The hotels spare no effort in transforming their interiors into festive havens. Every year, Tricia Irving, one of our talented employees who is based at head office with a full-time role as a Purchase Ledger, meticulously curates and installs hundreds of Christmas trees and decorations across all six hotels.
Tricia’s outstanding dedication and festive creativity were recently acknowledged at our third annual staff appreciation awards ceremony. She received the prestigious ‘Going the Extra Mile Award,’ recognising her remarkable efforts in bringing the Christmas spirit to life.
Amids this festive ambiance, all hotels are also offering a delectable array of seasonal dining options, including yuletide afternoon teas, a variety of festive menus and a Christmas-sprinkled version of the Skiddaw Hotel’s unique Hikers’ Board – available until January 2nd, 2024.
