Meet Our Head Chef
This is Bobby, the Skiddaw Hotel’s Head Chef since 2020. Before excelling in this position, Bobby worked over at our sister hotel, the Borrowdale Hotel, as sous chef.
With a plethora of experience under his belt, Bobby has a passion for food that is enthusiastically evident and motivates his skilled team daily. In the past, he has spent eighteen years as a chef in the Balearics, predominantly based in Mallorca. However, in search of culinary inspiration, he travelled broadly around the mainland and surrounding Spanish islands. Meeting a variety of suppliers enlightened Bobby as to how diverse the many regions of Spain are.
‘I learnt all about Spanish food from a range of highly experience chefs in the Balearics. From the old-school traditional through to when the new wave of technical creativity became popular in kitchens; I gained so much valuable knowledge which I have adapted into the new menu.’
Bobby has brought a taste of sunshine to Cumbria with his delicious Spanish tapas menu which has added a delightful, vibrant twist to our local culinary scene.
