After the success of Kitchen Rivals 2016, Baines Wilson LLP and Barclays are getting ready to sharpen their knives and polish the silver as they bring you the much awaited rematch of one of the most hotly contested dining challenges in Cumbria on Thursday 16th November 2017 – Kitchen Rivals! This year’s event will have a Christmas theme.
Grab your napkins, get ready with your tinsel, whet your appetite and prepare for a battle, as these two companies prepare to go head to head at the Inn on the Lake, to raise money for three local charities; Cumbria Community Foundation, Great North Air Ambulance and Blood Bikes Cumbria.
The inaugural event in 2016 was a huge success raising £13,305 for local charities with many fantastic auction and raffle prizes being generously donated from local Cumbrian businesses. After a close contest, the team from Baines Wilson were the winners and will look to hold on to their title this year, however Barclays will be looking to be crowned this year’s champions.
Teams of eight from Baines Wilson and Barclays will be in the kitchen and front of house, to impress 90 VIP guests, under the supervision of the Inn on the Lake’s expert chefs and front of house staff, to ensure that all guests have an enjoyable experience with the best food and service.
Throughout the evening guests will judge the two teams at work via a live stream from the kitchen and the service they receive, with the winning team being declared at the end of the evening.
Guests will be invited to pay for their experience based on what they would be prepared to pay if the food had been cooked and served by professionals. There will also be a raffle and auction. All monies raised will be split three ways between the three chosen charities.
Joanne Holborn, Employment Partner at Baines Wilson said: “We are delighted to be taking part in this amazing event again, it was so much fun last year. We couldn’t do it without the support of local businesses, who generously donate prizes and support the event. We hope to again raise significant amounts for our chosen charities.”
Gary Wilson, General Manager of Inn on the Lake commented “The Inn on the Lake is the perfect venue to host such a fabulous event, a huge amount of preparation goes in to making sure it is a success, and we are all looking forward to a fantastic evening, raising money for three well deserving causes.”
Joyce Seaborn, Area Business Manager for Barclays in Cumbria and North Lancashire added: “We received such positive feedback from our guests last year and the Barclays team are ready once again to take on the challenge and pull out all the stops to regain the title from Baines Wilson. Barclays encourages us to get involved in the causes we are passionate about and all the charities we are supporting provide fantastic support across Cumbria, making a real and lasting difference to the local community.”
