The 2019 festive period has just come to an end, and this year the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa was graced by soap star, Karen Blick, who plays Lydia Hart in ITV’s Emmerdale.

The much-loved Emmerdale character waved goodbye to The Woolpack and said hello to the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa, as she ventured to the Borrowdale Valley to enjoy a relaxing Christmas break with her family.
Karen whisked herself and her family away from the Dales and joined us for 4-nights on our magical Christmas package. She was joined by her mother, husband Simon and two children, Ruby and Oliver.
From the farm to the Falls
The onscreen partner of Sam Dingle is no stranger to the Lake District at Christmas, having stayed in the area for the past nine years. However, this is the first time she has stayed with us at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa.
“We get two weeks off from the show at Christmas so it’s nice to come away and spend it with family.”
The family decided to take the plunge and book onto our all-inclusive Christmas package when they read the complete itinerary of festivities that we had on offer. Karen was attracted to the idea that the whole package had already been planned out for them and thought it all “sounded so appealing.”
The soap star spent a portion of Christmas Day chatting to Lake District Hotels Director, Dani Hope, in which Karen also stated how impressed she was with the variety of different activities that were made available to residents on the package.
The pair discussed the effort and consideration that’s put into designing the Christmas packages while their young children merrily played together in the hotel. Karen also told Dani that her husband like open water swimming and swam down the lake during their visit too!
Karen and her family all took part in many of the different festivities occurring throughout the break including the Lakeside walk and taking part in the Christmas quiz, with the group actually being crowned Christmas Day quiz masters!
The Emmerdale actress also commented on how relaxing it was spending the Christmas period at the hotel and it was nice to have everything done for you. She even discussed the idea of returning next year for more festive fun!
“We think we’ll go back next year. Once you’ve been somewhere once, it’s hard not to want to go back. The staff are so nice it’ll be nice to go back and see everyone.”
