A brief history of Lake District Hotels

The group was established back in 1983 by Kit and Charles when they bought the Kings Arms Hotel. This was the first hotel in the portfolio which has expanded furthermore over the years as we invested in additional properties.

In 2014, the former Queens Hotel in Keswick was transformed into the Inn on the Square thanks to a £2.5 million refurbishment, while the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa underwent a major investment in 2018 with the opening of The Falls Spa, 18 spa suites and the award-winning pan-Asian restaurant, Mizu.

As a company, we strive to put our profits back into the business, with an ongoing programme of refurbishment and investment ensuring the most up-to-date facilities and satisfying experiences for our guests.

We also invest in our various teams across the company, with competitive salaries, training and development, and a range of additional benefits including discounted accommodation and dining rates within the group and a long service awards scheme.

Dani joined her parents in the business 10 years ago, with all three involved in the day-to-day operation of the hotels.
