If the true way to a person’s heart is through their stomach, then the brand-new Hikers Picnic Afternoon Board being served at the Skiddaw Hotel is quite possibly the best way to show Mum how much you care this Mother’s Day.
Complete with Mini Lakeland Beef Sliders, Panko Fish Goujons, Halloumi Fries, Chocolate Brownies plus much more, this modern twist on a traditional afternoon tea is perfect for those Mums who favour savoury treats over sweet ones.
Our Hikers Picnic Afternoon Board is priced at £31.95 for 2 people and can be enjoyed in the comfort of our cosy bar lounge & conservatory. Alternatively, discover the elegance of our new restaurant, ‘Brasserie 31’ and enjoy a sumptuous 3-course Sunday lunch for £21.95 plus a gift for Mum.
2) Afternoon Tea at the Inn on the Lake
If your yummy mummy has a sweet tooth and enjoys the finer things in life, the new Afternoon Tea at Inn on the Lake is just the ticket for Mother’s Day in the Lake District. Our wonderful pastry chef has put together a selection of afternoon delights fit for royalty.
Tuck into sweet patisseries, fluffy cakes, delicately prepared finger sandwiches plus more as you enjoy sweeping views of Ullswater from the warmth of our newly-refurbished Orangery.
In fact, last summer the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge actually enjoyed Afternoon Tea at the Inn on the Lake on a regal rest-stop, meaning our sweet treats and kitchen team really do have the royal seal of approval!

3) Mizu Tasting Menu for 2
If your Mum is a proper foodie, the Mizu Tasting Menu for 2 is bound to do the trick this Mother’s Day in the Lake District! With both regular and vegan options available, this 6-course tasting menu incorporates some of the nicest dishes from the exotic cultures of Asia.
This unique, Lake District dining experience will take your senses on a cultural adventure, making it hard to believe you’re actually in the comfort of the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa and not one of Japan’s trendiest restaurants.

4) 4-course Sunday lunch at the Borrowdale Hotel
Although a meal experience is always a great gift, we understand that some people like to stick to what they know! For those mothers who enjoy traditional, British delicacies done right, the Mother’s Day 4-course Sunday Lunch at the Borrowdale Hotel makes for the perfect present.
