Mr & Mrs Anderson’s Inn on the Lake Wedding

For this month’s wedding blog, we’re reflecting back to Friday 24th August 2018 when Charlotte Sedgwick stepped into her beautiful wedding dress and walked down the aisle, where her husband-to-be, Tom Anderson, awaited her.

We’re very grateful that the two of them chose the Inn on the Lake for their wedding reception and we were extremely grateful to catch up with the pair a year on. We develop great relationships with all of our wedding couples so do let us know how you’re keeping!

If you think you may be interested in having your wedding ceremony and/or reception at the Inn on the Lake, do visit our upcoming Winter Wedding Fayre on Sunday 3rd November. Entry is free and you will receive a complimentary mince pie and a glass of mulled wine.

The wedding ceremony took place in St Patrick’s Church in Patterdale followed by the wedding reception at the Inn on the Lake.

MR & MRS BARRY’S WEDDING →

What was your wedding theme?

We had no specific theme as such, but the tables were named after mountains/beauty spots we love and the table centres were rustic signposts with these places on.

What was your wedding dress like?

A Maggie Sottero ball gown dress with a long train and detachable lace straps for a different evening look.

Did you wear any jewelry?

I wore a delicate silver necklace, some earrings gifted to me by parents years ago as my ‘something old’ and a silver bracelet belonging to a bridesmaid as my ‘something borrowed’.

Who did your hair and makeup?

Aileen from Vanilla Beauty in Grange over Sands did mine, my bridesmaids and my mum’s make up before getting ready herself as she is a friend and was also a wedding guest. My hair was done by Ashley at Greg Malloy in Penrith who did a fabulous job.

Tell us a bit about your wedding reception:

Our drinks reception immediately after the church ceremony was mainly held in the bar due to the rain, but we did manage to dash outside to get some photos in between showers! We then had our wedding breakfast in the Lakeview Restaurant followed by the evening reception in the Ramblers Bar and Candleroom.

What did you do for table settings and stationery?

Our wedding invitations and order of services were designed by my brother and sister-in-law (also a bridesmaid) and we had the rest of the stationary, table centres, name cards etc. printed with the same design. They created a logo from our initials which we then had made into a stamp and used this logo on everything.

The table centres were rustic signposts with the names of mountains/places we love, stood next to beautiful floral displays. These were provided by Purple Swan Venue Styling.
We had made raspberry gin for our wedding favours so also had these on the tables in individual bottles.

What was your wedding cake like?

the wedding cake was made as a gift from a family member. It was a stunning 4 tier cake in our chosen wedding colours which was covered with silver leaves.

What was your first dance song?

We had dance lessons with Gemma from the Laura Sandham School of Dance who helped us choreograph the most spectacular first dance to ‘Photograph’ by Boyce Avenue. We absolutely loved our dance lessons and surprising our guests on the night was amazing – it was so much fun to perform!

What did you have for entertainment?

We had a band called ‘Mister Moo & His New Shoes’ who are a ska/funk band who I had come across through work. They were brilliant and had everyone up on their feet dancing.

Who was your wedding photographer?

We chose Sally Eaves Weddings as our photographer who was fabulous and created some stunning photos for us. She was very professional and lovely to have there on the day.

Sally was recommended to me by a friend and I would certainly recommend her to any other brides and grooms. We also have a collection of photos from our pre-wedding photo shoot which was a great idea to get us used to being in front of the camera.
